Faculty Profile
Vonda Bradt is an Assistant Professor of Exceptional Needs Education for ¶¶Òõ̽̽App. Professor Bradt earned her B.S. degree from Cincinnati Christian University and her M.Ed. from the University of Cincinnati.
Professor Bradt began her career as a sign language interpreter in schools in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. During that time, she mentored interpreters for schools and church services. She later served as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher in the Cincinnati, Ohio, region and rural Indiana. Across her career, she has worked with students with exceptional needs at all levels, from preschool through college.
During her time teaching students with exceptional needs, Vonda developed authentic, compliant transition plans for transition-age students. Many of which were used as exemplars in training other educators. Her inclusion practices and strategies for students with exceptional needs in the general education setting were examined as part of another professor’s sabbatical research. She has also presented the effects of brain trauma during professional development with other teachers.
